How a B Corp engagement works
A five-step path from "our values aren't showing up in our software" to a platform that surfaces them, defends them, and survives recertification.
- Discovery Session. Four hours mapping your B Lab commitments, where your existing systems already track impact data, and where the documentation gaps are.
- Define Phase. Two to four weeks producing IA, content model, technical architecture, integration plan with your impact, supply chain, and HR systems, and a fixed-price build budget.
- Phased build. Block-first WordPress build, accessibility audit at each milestone, integration with the operational systems that source your impact data, content migration with your editorial team.
- Launch and governance handoff. Editor training, documentation, recertification-ready data dictionaries, and a runbook for keeping the platform aligned with B Lab assessment criteria.
- Ongoing partnership. Monthly retainer for security, accessibility, recertification prep, and feature additions tied to your impact reporting calendar.
Common questions
Do we have to be a Certified B Corp to work with you?
No. We work with B Corps, B Corp candidates pursuing certification, nonprofits, and other mission-driven organizations. B Corp clients benefit from working with a B Corp partner because contractual standards already match, but it isn't a prerequisite.
Can you help us prepare for B Corp certification?
For the parts of the B Impact Assessment that depend on documented systems and operational evidence (workforce data, environmental footprint, customer engagement, governance documentation), yes. We design and build the platforms that capture and surface that data. For the legal and accounting work of certification itself, we coordinate with the B Lab consultants who specialize there.
How does your B Corp status affect what you charge?
We price for the long-term relationship rather than the margin on individual projects. Our internal pay model is documented, our compensation ratios are reported, and our rates are publicly visible on the Plans & Pricing page. We don't markup junior labor at senior rates or bundle hidden overhead into hourly bills.
What does the recertification timeline look like for the platforms you build?
B Lab recertification happens every three years. We design data systems so the documentation needed for the B Impact Assessment is captured continuously, not reconstructed the quarter before audit. The ongoing retainer typically includes a recertification-prep cycle in the months leading up to your assessment.
Will the site be accessible and bilingual if we need it to be?
WCAG 2.1 AA is our default standard, not a paid add-on. Multilingual sites via WPML or Polylang are common in B Corp engagements where audiences span borders. Both are scoped in Define so they shape architecture rather than being bolted on after launch.
