Discovery Session

A Discovery Session is a focused, paid working session. Typically 4 hours. In which Hello World maps a project’s goals, constraints, audience, and technical landscape so the resulting scope and pricing are grounded in evidence rather than guesses.

What gets covered

• Business and program goals the technology has to support.
• Audience and access requirements (accessibility, language, device).
• Current technical landscape: hosting, CMS, integrations, content sources.
• Constraints: budget, timeline, governance, risk appetite.
• Quick-win opportunities vs. structural changes.

What you walk away with

• A documented problem statement and success criteria.
• A scoped recommendation with phased options and rough cost ranges.
• A risk and dependency register.
• A decision: proceed to Define Phase, take recommendations back in-house, or part ways with no further commitment.

Why it’s paid

Spec work doesn’t produce good recommendations. Paying for Discovery aligns incentives. The output is yours to keep regardless of whether you continue the engagement. And lets the team go deep on your specific situation rather than producing a generic proposal.
