UX & design

Hello World's UX and design practice ships brand-aligned, accessible, editor-first design systems and the WordPress block patterns that put them in your team's hands. We work with comms, program, and engineering leads to design interfaces that match your audience's mental models. Not the design trends of the year.

How we approach it

Audience-led, not portfolio-led

Decisions get made for the people who use the site, not because something looks fresh on Dribbble.

Accessibility is the design constraint

Contrast, focus order, semantic structure, plain language. Designed in from the start, not patched at QA.

Editor-first design system

Block patterns + theme.json so comms staff compose new pages without breaking the brand.

Research-informed, scope-aware

Real interviews and analytics shape the brief. We scope research to the decision being made.

What's included

  • Audience interviews + research synthesis
  • Information architecture + content model
  • Visual design system aligned to your brand (or built fresh)
  • Component library + WordPress block patterns
  • Accessibility patterns (focus order, ARIA where needed, plain-language guidelines)
  • Interaction prototyping for critical flows
  • Design documentation editors and engineers can both use

Who it's for

Orgs with brand drift

Three years of one-off page templates have produced a site that looks like five different organizations. Time to reset.

Teams launching a new program or campaign

A new initiative needs space that doesn't fit the existing IA, but also has to inherit brand consistency.

Pre-build clients

Custom development is on the horizon; the design system has to exist before engineering can build against it.

What it costs

UX & Design engagements typically range $15K–$60K depending on scope. From a focused pattern library refresh to a full research + design system + prototype engagement.

Common questions

Do you produce design only, or build it too?

Both. Many engagements ship design + WordPress build together so the design intent survives implementation. Pure design engagements are also offered. Typically as a precursor to a build with us or with your in-house team.

Do you do user research?

Yes, scoped to the decision being made. Lightweight stakeholder interviews + analytics review at the small end; multi-round audience interviews + usability testing at the deep end. Discovery answers which is right.

What does the deliverable look like?

A Figma library tied to your design tokens, WordPress block patterns that match it, and documentation that links the two. So editors and engineers refer to the same source of truth.
