Define Phase

The Define Phase is a fixed-price scoping engagement following Discovery in which Hello World produces a detailed implementation plan, technical architecture, and confirmed build budget — converting strategic direction into an executable build.

What Define produces

• Detailed scope with prioritized feature list.
• Information architecture and content model.
• Technical architecture: hosting, frameworks, integrations, third-party services.
• Wireframes for key flows.
• Project plan with phased milestones.
• Fixed-price build budget you can take to your board or finance team.

Why a separate phase

Quoting a fixed price for a complex build without Define would either over-quote (to cover unknowns) or under-quote (and force change orders later). Define removes the unknowns. You finish Define with the confidence to commit to a build, the cost to do it, and the option to take the plan in-house.

Typical length and cost

Two to four weeks of focused work with a small Hello World team and a few hours per week of your team’s time. Cost typically ranges from $10K to $30K depending on project complexity.
